What is a Toolbar?
A Toolbar is a bar that sits somewhere around the top of the page when you are browsing the Internet, and consists of a number of 'buttons' that provide various tools and links. A popular toolbar is one that provides a shortcut to a Search Engine such as Google. Once installed, the toolbar will appear every time you open the Internet Browser program.
The Silver Surfers Academy Toolbar consists of buttons that provide links to other websites that could be of interest to Silver Surfers in particular, although many of them are of general interest. Here is a picture of our toolbar, followed by a description of each of the buttons:

- If you click on the 'Silver Surfers Academy' logo it will take you to our home page, where you will be able to find lots of IT Training resources, as you have already found!
- The 'Search' box is a shortcut to the Google search engine, so you can enter your search information here and click on 'Go' and Google will do its stuff and bring you all the web pages relevant to the information you are looking for.
- The 'Useful Links' button will open secondary menus giving links to various websites linked to topics of interest. Please note that inclusion in this list of a given website does not necessarily imply a recommendation by this webmaster, to the exclusion of other sites but these are provided as known popular sites. If you have any suggestions on other links that could be provided, or any other comments about the toolbar, please use the 'IT Training Enquiry' form.
- The picture of the sun/cloud provides a link to a weather site, where you can get a weather forecast for your own local town by entering the appropriate details.
- The 'Games and Tools' button provides links to lots of 'fun' sites that provide various games and other activities.
- The 'Message' button provdes a way of us sending a message to you, and will initially contain a welcome message.
